Larry Spielberg, General Manager, grew up in Falls Church, VA. I fell in love with the game of golf at the age of 12 and have never lost the passion for the game and everything that surrounds it. I gave playing professional golf a shot but realized I would not be able to make a living at it. Still having the passion for golf and everything about the game, I became involved in the management end of the business. Working at Ford’s Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, VA for Rick Ford, was my big break both professionally and educationally. Rick would always tell me, having a background in golf is great but you need to learn all the facets of the golf and the hospitality business and then mesh the two together. With his expertise and tutelage I have a foundation to continue my education and pursuit of creating outstanding memorable experiences for both members and guests at Fauquier Springs Country Club.
Donna received her training in Accounting from Germanna Community College and previously worked at Oak Springs Nursing Home for 14 years. She was the Accounts Receivable Manager, and her many years of education and training experience in Medicare and Medicaid was used for Skilled Nursing Facility Billing. Donna finally arrived to us in 1994 and has been with Fauquier Springs as the Office Manager for 20 years now. She will tell you that she loves accounting and takes pride in her work. Donna’s best friend is also her wonderful husband Pete of 47 years. They have 3 wonderful children and seven precious grandchildren.
Our Banquet & Catering Sales Manager, Maranatha Holley-Poole, handles all inquiries and bookings for Fauquier Springs Country Club.
Maranatha has many years of experience in the restaurant and wedding & event industries. She previously worked at the Inn at Kelly’s Ford and was the Event Sales Coordinator there before she came onboard in our banquet & catering department in 2011. She accepted the Banquet & Catering Sales Manager position in January 2017 after being the Legends Catering Sales Manager for over a year prior.
For more than a decade, Maranatha has participated in the planning, execution, and management of hundreds of weddings and special events, both onsite and offsite. She has a passion for getting the details of an event “just right” to create a memorable occasion for our clients.
Sam has been around the game of golf for many years, from her first lessons as a child to working at local courses throughout her teens and early twenties. She has a background in Real Estate sales and has lived in the area most of her life. Sam played Division 1 softball at University of South Carolina. She brings an enthusiastic determination to help us achieve our membership and catering goals. You will see Sam at many of the member functions and around the clubhouse. If you have any friends you would like to have her to get in touch with to talk about becoming a member, give Sam their information and she will be happy to invite them in for a tour. Sam’s office is located down stairs across from the card room.
Sam and her husband Kris live in Orlean with their two kids, Kamryn and Parker.
Tom was born in Virginia at Fort Belvoir and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He received his bachelors of Fine Arts from the Philadelphia College of Art, and an Associates in Occupational Studies from the Culinary Institute of America. He has worked and lived in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., New Orleans, and Los Angeles as well as a couple of seaside resorts in between. He mentored under Michel Richard and has since returned and has lived in Fauquier County for 18 years. We are thrilled to have him as our Executive Chef with all the knowledge and experience he has acquired over the years.
David came to the Club in 2003 and instantly fell in love with the fast paced kitchen lifestyle. After graduating on the Dean’s List from Johnson & Wales University he took a couple of years to travel and learn about different cuisines across the United States. After working under many great Chefs and being trained by a Certified Master Ice Carver on how to create elegant sculptures, he decided to travel and settle in on his home turf. He is very grateful and proud to be back at the amazing Fauquier Springs Country Club where his whole journey began.
Dani came to work for FSCC in February of 2007 as Grille Room Manager. She and her son Nick moved to the area from Albemarle County where she had previously been employed for ten years with Wintergreen Resort as General Manager of Devils Grill Restaurant and The Garden Terrace Restaurant. Prior to her tenure at Wintergreen, Dani worked for several long established restaurants in the Charlottesville area in as Manager, as well as spending several years as Kitchen Manager for White Star Mills Restaurant in historic downtown Staunton.
Dani loves, and takes great pride in catering to club members needs ensuring their dining experience is of the highest quality that they deserve and should always expect in the Grille Room.
Jeff graduated from Delaware Valley University, PA with a BA in Business Administration and moved to South Carolina to attend the Golf Academy of the Carolina's. He began working at the Member's Club at Grande Dunes during his time at the Academy and never looked back. He was voted Top-100 Alumni at the Golf Academy of the Carolina's in 2016. Throughout his years in Myrtle Beach, he competed in Section PGA events and various mini-tour tournaments before focusing on the business side of golf. Jeff comes to us from Rivers Edge Golf Club in Shallotte, NC.
Jeff and his wife Eileen live in the area with their two dogs and horse.
Justin grew up in Amissville, Virginia and attended Culpeper High School. He has worked at Fauquier Springs Country Club since 1998. He worked in the Catering Department for nine years before moving over to Golf where his passion resides. He loves the game of golf and enjoys learning more about the industry and is beginning the steps to get his PGA Membership. He particularly likes working with Junior Golfers and diligently manages our weekly games and tournaments.
Justin lives in Remington with his wife, Dale.
Ed has over 35 years of experience in golf course maintenance and began his Superintendent career in Pennsylvania at Pittsburgh North Golf Club. From there he moved on to the Chestnut Ridge Resort in Blairsville, Pa. where he was responsible for maintaining an 18 hole golf course and constructing and maintaining a second 18 hole course on the property.
In 2005, Ed and his wife decided to move south to Farmville, Virginia. to escape the Pennsylvania winters and accepted a position at The Manor Resort. It wasn’t until 2012 that we have had the honor of having Ed on our team and the golf course has never looked better!
